10. Ouro Preto


Ouro Preto meaning “Black Gold” is the home to some of the most attractive buildings in Brazil. It is a former mining town from the period of Portuguese colonial ruling located the state of Minas Gerais. During the golden age of the 18th century, it was known as Vila Rica meaning the village of the rich.
